Midsummer Nights Dream Analysis:)

The play says that love is foolish. In the story they use the magical flowers that make you fall in love with someone and the other flower that makes you come back from the spell. This in reality is like how often the lovers change their mind of who is there true love. The shifting thoughts of "love" shows how foolish and even childish love is considered in the play. Even the duke and his wife noticed how strange it was that Lysander finally decided to go with Hermia instead of Helena. Another supporting example is when Oberon is mad at Titania, he punishes her, but at the end he fall in loves with again. This shows how easily the characters change there mind too, but instead if shifting lovers it moves from I hate you to I love you. In conclusion  the love quadrilateral and the Fairy leaders show how inconstant and silly love is in the story, you just never know which path is will take them next.

Holden & Green day!

Today you can find many connections to the book Catcher in the Rye. In the Song of know your enemy by Green Day it connects to Holdens' actions, "bring on the Fury, the choir infantry, Revolt against the honor to obey." It reminds me of Holden rebeling and leaving school, he's not following the Rules of life like Mr. Spencer said. In a way he is revolting against the honor to obey.

Emily Dickinson

That I Did Always Love

That I did always love,
I bring thee proof:
That till I loved
I did not love enough.

That I shall love alway,
I offer thee
That love is life,
And life hath immortality.

This, dost thou doubt, sweet?
Then have I
Nothing to show
But Calvary.

Mythology Connections

Be careful who you ask for help because they might make you suffer even more. Glaucus and Scylla, the story of a sea-god who fell in love with a nymph named Scylla, but she rejected him and he went to find help. He went to Circe, a enchantress and begged for a love potion, but instead she fell in love with him and poisoned Scylla. By him going to ask for a poison for love is a mistake,he's trying to take the easy way out and at the end Scylla turned into a monster of destruction.

Circe will try to get whatever she wants even if it involves death of others. In the series of Gemma Doyle, her mother lived a double life and wasn't discovered until her death. Gemma found out that her mother was part of the order, a group of sorceress and Circe was the enemy trying to gain the magic of the realms, through Gemma's adventure in the Spence Academy she found out the cause of her mothers' death, Circe. Gemma struggled with the lost of her mom, but that gave her strength to put a stop to Circe; only the ones worthy of shall win the battle and gain power.

My favorite movie

My favorite movie would have to be Tangled. It's basically about a princess named Rapunzel who's locked in a tower by her "mother". Instead of it being a regular story it's quite ironic Rapunzel is actually brave & adventurous, not the typical princess. Her hair is magical and it glows as she sings, her supposedly "mother"  used her hair to remain young. My favorite character in the movie is her pet pascal,I'm not sure but i think he's some sort of  amphibian and he makes hilarious face expressions throughout the movie. I enjoyed the movie as well as other children under the age of 10, but I highly recommend it!
